Re-usable die-cut camo mask set
The set includes one sheet of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.
Chengdu FT-7
is a twin-seater trainer variant of the J-7 supersonic jet fighter. The latter is a reverse-engineered MiG-21, made in China. Allegedly, Chinese made MiG-21s were with improved performance, thanx to some diferences with the original. Among these are different fuel arrangement and hydraulic systems, as well as different cockpits. Furthermore, J-7 was deeply modified, with later variants featuring completely different wings, glass cockpit and highly improved capabilities. More than 2400 have been produced, with some still serving to this day in various countries. Among those are China, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, North Korea, Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. Former operators are Albania, Iran, Egypt and quite surprisingly – USA. In US, planes were used for technology evaluation and it is unclear how exactly were those obtained.
Splinter Camouflage
used on Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force Chengdu FT-7 is seen in two variations. This mask set represents one of them. The second option features larger splinter spots, however due to lack of sufficient resource material, option one is more popular and accurate. The lack of spare parts grounded better part of the Chengdu jets in Iran, despite their effort for domestic components production. Seemingly, the jets in option one are the ones flying, since many pictures of the planes are available publicly. Currently, it is confirmed that only two Chengdu FT-7 trainers are available for active service in IRIAF.
