Arctic Splinter Camo Paint Masks for F/A-18 Hornet Aggressor 1/32
Suggested scale: 1/32
Suggested kit: F/A-18 Hornet Kits in 32nd scale
Re-usable die-cut camo mask set
The set includes three sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
Hornet Arctic
Aggressor belongs to VFC-12 Fighting Omars and is painted in Splinter Camouflage typical for some Russian Sukhoi Su-35 Flankers and Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrums. F/A-18 looks rather unusual in this camouflage scheme, but in the same time demonstrates very aggressive looks. Despite the fact that F/A-18 Hornet is smaller in size compared to Su-27/35 Flanker jets, this arctic aggressor scheme makes it look very close to the original Russian jets. In the air the resemblance between the two is high. In the same time, although approximately similar in size to MiG-29SMT, the pattern worn by this aggressor is slightly darker compared to the Mikoyan’s jets.
F/A-18 Legacy Hornet
in 32nd scale should be used for this camouflage application. There are few of these available on the market currently, best among them being the Academy F/A-18 in its various releases. Legacy Hornet is currently being retired around the World and even though several countries still use it actively, the end of the line for this jet is near. The Legacy Hornets in use are from A, B, C and D variants. Some of them are being replaced by Super Hornets, some are exchanged for different jet types. As with this Arctic Splinter Camo scheme, other aggressors schemes will be used with F/A-18 till the end of its service life, since the jet is very capable at low speeds and quite suitable for an aggressor role.
