The set includes two sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.

Su-33 Canopy Masks
for 48th scale Flanker-D includes both Interior and Exterior. It also features Wheels & Radio-Transparent Elements’ masks designed specifically for Minibase #8001 kit in quarter scale. The set compliments the camouflage DN Models’ 48/827-038 paint mask set, dedicated to the Russian NAVY carrier-based fighter jet in 48th scale. Although the Camouflage Mask Set was made for previous releases of the Flanker-D in the same scale, it will suit Minibase kit as well. This DN Models Canopy mask set suits both of the canopy options included in Minibase #8001. Decals for the Radio-Transparent elements included in the Minibase kit are substituted with masks also available in this set. Due to their white color, they are more realistic when painted, instead of covered with decals.

SU-33 Flanker-D
Minibase kit was initially released in early 2021. It is the latest release dedicated to the Russian Carrier-Based Fighter Jet, following Aviation Art / Kinetic releases, soon to be supplemented by HobbyBoss and their own new tooling. Minibase kit’s detailing is superb. It is considered as the very best representation of the Su-33 on the market currently, even though Kinetic release gained large popularity as well. However, Kinetic is very hard to find and Hobby Boss release will come with doubtful accuracy and design. Minibase representation of the Su-33 Flanker D was made according to every modern standard and with their very first release, they set the bar very high. Alongside with Great Wall Hobby’s Flanker kits, Miniart Su-33 kit sets a new standard for the future Flanker family releases.
